｜Is LUV a self-portrait of Ly!?
Always painted in grayscale, an imaginary character called LUV appears in Ly’s work. LUV is said to be Ly’s expression of memories, emotions and imagination. I think LUV takes the role of Ly’s self-portrait in that case.
Ly depicts LUV’s eyes always looking back at the viewer no matter where we look at the painting. It feels as if this fictional character LUV is communicating with us beyond words.
