Yoshitomo Nara [In the Floating World – Portfolio of 16]

We wanted to tell you we highly recommend ‘In the Floating World.’

Yositomo Nara created the work inspired by woodblock prints of star artists during the Edo period, such as Hokusai Katsushika, Hiroshige Utagawa, and Sharaku Toshusai, which is rare.
He produced this piece with modern day-to-day media using Xerox copies.

You can feel a relaxing atmosphere. It may be fun to find out the original work of each work.

This series, executed in 1999, is Nara’s first edition work.

CURIO offers a complete set, a portfolio of 16 items. It isn’t easy to collect one by one. Don’t miss this rare opportunity.

If you are thinking of obtaining one piece alone, we can introduce this one for now, inspired by “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” fromThirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji (Fugaku sanjūrokkei) by Katsushika Hokusai.
